Suggestion: Add a paramedic. This can be a highly ranked and trained person in a special suv with red lights that would respond to ALS calls or a call where a emt can request a paramedic to assist. BLS stands for basic life support such as a injured person callout and ALS stands for advanced life support like the heart attack call out. So on a BLS call just the ambulance would be called and if the emt's think they need a paramedic after checking the patient they can request one or if its an ALS call both the ambulance and the medic be requested to respond and the ambulance. Make the back doors of the ambulance open and close for stretcher. Be able to sign on central "ambulance (number) is responding" or if a paramedic was responding they say "paramedic (number) responding" Some callout out ideas I have for the future can be a sick person, diabetic emergency, a laceration where the emts would need to stop bleeding subject, gun shot victim and drug overdose . The best call which includes both police and emt's is a psychiatric evaluation. The emt would be requested to stage also know as standing by in the area so they are ready and they would need to wait for the police to access an individual to be sure there safe and stable to go to the hospital and also cops can also find unstable ill subjects in the city and request emt for transport for a evaluation.

Sounds like fly cars which wouldn't be bad to have as an incentive but both BLS (EMT-Basic/Advanced) and ALS (EMT-Paramedic) staff ambulances. Typically an ambulance (or fire truck, etc) is only ALS if it's staffed by an EMT-P.

So basically a rapid response unit where it may arrive first to stabilize the patient before ambulance arrives or determine if its actually needed. I like the idea.
