SCPD
Songs like this always makes me wonder how glad there are some cops who does their duty right. Every year an officer gets shot in the line of duty, and sometimes it ends in a tragedy. Officers are people too. They have their own lives. And they risk them in order to protect the innocents. MasterAfter
It's indeed a very beautiful song. I've discovered it about 2 months ago. It's very nice that you decided to share it. When we're at the topic of police tributes I know another song: Last Call by Dave Bray. I think all people who serve in emergency services wheter it's police, fire or EMS they're true heroes. It really takes a strong character to do their jobs. That's why I have a lot of respect for them. Also duty in the military isn't easy cup of cake either. I'm currenty in high school in my country and I'd like to become EMT soon. I'd like to help other people if possible. However because I have diabetes (no I'm not fat if you're wondering) I think it's not gonna happen but the time will tell ;)
SCPD
greenops011[/member] 2k16[/member] Here's another song I know of. Technically its written for the Canadian soldiers who have fallen during peace missions in Afghanistan but are still the ones whom protect the innocent. I remembered it was first played when I was 8th grade on Remembrance Day where we did a play on it. Anyways part of Ontario Kings Highway 401 was named "Highway of Heroes" where this section was used to escort fallen soldiers from CFB Trenton Base. As such many Canadians has paid their respect for those soldiers whom has gone on these peacekeeping missions. Perhaps we should pay our tributes to anybody who has risked their lives in the lines of duty, whether if your police, fire, emt, soldier, or even an ordinary citizen. And tbh I have been hoping to go into police if I ever drop out of university for reasons exactly said in this thread. For now I am continuing my studies but I would prefer to protect and serve. Funny thing is, in grade 6, the Trews actuall came to my school and performed this in the gym. And I agree, lets make this thread for anyone who puts their life on on line every day so that we can live. Whether its the police, military, fire services, EMS, or anyone else you can think of. We need to honor those who may very well end up making the ultimate sacrifice. For you....
Blast3r
A while ago Ladder 49 was on the TV and I watched it but not from the beginning though, somewhere from let's say 30% of the movie I guess? Hell I even forgot most of it already but I do remember that it was about a Firefighter that was good with his Captain or Chief and that his wife wanted him to pull out of the job as she always feared of seeing the red car come to her house (Chief's FD Crown Vic).Someone who's more familiar with the movie will probably know more but I think he was on his last call or so before he actually wanted to retire and ended up dying in a fire. In general, what I'm talking about the most is the end scene with the Shine your light song at his funeral which has actually made me tear up a lot (usually dog movies are the ones that do that to me lol). In addition, a few years ago I used to replay the fuck out of this as well: Now to add to my topic there's one thing that majorly pisses me off and it's the people. The internet "heroes" that always know that officer should not have reacted like that in a split second decision while watching from their computer screens in their comfortable homes and comfortable chairs. Most of the situations I'm talking about are pretty much those split decisions such as that one where a drunk idiot figured he'd take out a plastic pistol on the cops resulting them into shooting him right away & situations like those. And another thing is when they mention how EU cops are "better" than the US cops and barely discharge their weapons. I personally think this is quite logical considering that EU is a piece of cake next to the US in terms of the amount of weapons there are on the streets as well as in terms of crime. The things that the US officers go through makes their actions more than reasonable since that is litteraly fearing for your life everyday unlike in the EU where it's not as messed up as it is up there. Last officer death case in Croatia was in 2013 or maybe 2014, I'm not exactly sure and it happened 15 kms from where I live, even the ambulance that was transporting the officer at 1 am or so passed next to my house with both lights and sirens on. In general, officers came to a domestic disturbance call where a suspect pulled out a knife / machete and sliced him up and it was all over the news actually. However, the thing that disturbed me the most about that case was how the news actually placed Angela Merkel visiting Croatia before the officer's death news, I have no idea how the hell is Merkel more important than someone dying on their line of duty but I guess that's fucking Croatia for you. MasterAfter
I was also about to post the second song about the firefighters - it's very addicting to listen to. I have to agree that dog movies also touch on me :'(When it comes to the news showing Merkel's visit first I think it's logical. I mean she's one of the most important figures in EU (at least she was a few years ago) and such visits not happen on daily routines. I feel very bad for the officer and it's really disturbing that it happend just few kilometers away from your living location. Besides what're you expecting from the news? They always look for sensation. When it comes to the USA topic I think that less guns equals less violence. But maybe it's just me. Also I thought about adding 2 songs about EMS:

I've seen that movie so many times, I actualy wore out the tape mechanism in the VHS tape (and yes, I still use my VCR very regularly). Essentially the movie starts off with Jack Morrison (the main character and firefighter), responding to a grain elevator structure fire, that has gone out of control. (For anyone who doesn't know, any type of fire where there is a lot of powder, like sawdust, grain silos, etc.... is extremely dangerous. All it takes is a spark and you can set the whole thing up in flames. The spark more or less jumps from particle to particle spreading very very rapidly). If I remember correctly, they had gotten to the 12th level of the elevator and had just gone across a metal catwalk when the catwalk was destroyed by falling debris. They found a victim suffering from severe smoke inhilation, and as their only exit was gone, they had to attempt to lower the victim down from an exterior roll up door, down to a bucket. When the victim was about 30 feet from the bucket, the floor that Jack was standing on collapsed, and he became trapped.Throughout the movie you see flashbacks to his life when he had just joined the Baltimore Fire Department, to meeting his wife Linda in a grocery store, to losing one of his brother firefighters in a ceiling collapse, to another one recieving serious burns to his face as a result of super-heated steam, to the birth of his kids. An interesting note about that movie is all the actors in that movie had to undergo extensive training. In that movie, all the flames you see are real, no special effects. As such, the actors, if so inclined, could actually apply to become firefighters, as they have the required training. Could you imagine John Travolta and Joaquin Pheonix as firefighters? That would be like Steve Buschemi being an FDNY firefighter.Oh wait, this just in....... Actor Steve Buschemi really was a firefighter with the FDNYhttp://www.simplethingcalledlife.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/steve-buscemi-fdby-650x640.pngYes, the guy everyone knows from the Adam Sandler movies, as "Crazy Eyes", was a legit FDNY firefighter.Back to Ladder 49. I strongly recommend you guys watch it if you have the chance. Very good movie
MasterAfter
Okay I have another portion of songs. 1 is about a kid who wants to become a firefighter (there's reference to 9/11 - WTC) and the other one is dedicated to emergency workers by Dave Carroll.
