Suggestion for (MTA, Forum, website): Forum Suggestion: A subsection in the staff/admin section for moderators and admins to ask questions of the more experienced admin team (like a staff support section) Why should this be added?: For those of us, like me, who are less experienced, we may have some questions about things in game, procedures, rules, or anything else to help us do our job better. We could pm other admins, but it would be nice to have it so anyone on the admin team who may be able to help can answer, not just the one or two we pm. In addition these questions may contain things that the general users, and possibly even helpers, SHOULD NOT KNOW, so having a place for those who are "need to know" to get help regarding their duties would be very benificial Anything else you'd like to add?: not sure if I should even really be posting this here as it really only applies to staff members

Barricaded Suspect Server Event (Updated with Date)
greenops011 replied to greenops011's topic in [FR:SA] Discussion
once we get enough participants evaluated I will edit the main post with the time and date. Obviously there are some people who don't need to be evaluated as they've been around for a while and know the ropes, (yourself included). Just wanna get some idea of how many people are interested before I set a date and time -
Barricaded Suspect Server Event (Updated with Date)
greenops011 posted a topic in [FR:SA] Discussion
So as some of you are aware, I have talked about holding a special "barricaded suspect" type event, where there would be a group of players acting as suspects, holed up in a house in bone county, and a group of players acting as SWAT officers, who's goal it is to apprehend the suspects that are in the building. As both groups will be given weapons and skins normally not available, it is extremely important, no, a requirement, to screen participants to make sure they are appropriate enough for this event. I need to be 100% certain you will take it seriously, and not just troll or DM. If this event goes well, I may discuss with the higher-ups making it a monthly thing, to bring some variety into the server. Make things more exciting. As a side note, no EXP will be given for participants in this event, nor any promotions in rank. This is simply for fun, and to see if it is something that can be done in the future again. Using Discord, and having a working microphone is an absolute MUST, as we do not need to be spamming the chat with stuff related to this event, If you don't have a microphone on your computer, but you have either an android or iphone, you can use the app linked below to do the voice chat. as I'm sure there will be other people playing. In addition, obviously SWAT would want to use it for radio comms, and even trying to communicate with the suspects. The date planned for this is Wednesday April 26, 2017 at 4:00pm EST (-05:00). I chose this time because it seems for the most part most people who might participate would be awake at that time. If I need to, I can adjust the schedualed time later If you are interested, please say so in a reply, so I can make a list of people to evaluate to see if they would be a good match. The following SWAT skin is just a suggestion, it would be cool if the participants would use it, but not mandatory http://www.image24.net/uploads/316329d5aesa-mp-zzz.png http://uploaded.net/file/2fzpqm7w And here is a lenco bearcat mod you may be interested in using fot this event http://www.gtagaming.com/downloads/gta-san-andreas/vehicle-mods/23042 -

or a simpler idea, just put an officer vendor up near the helipad -
i think the problem is the tasered animation only works when there is actual damage. maybe make it only take 1 HP point. if you did that, it would take beeing taserd 100 times to kill them, and I doubt anyone has that patience to shoot a ped 100 times just to kill them

Suggestion for (MTA, Forum, website): MTA Suggestion: For many of us, radio codes can get quite confusing, as everywhere is different. Seeing as this game is based in the State of California, I think it only makes sense to use the LAPD's radio codes when/if the /rd suggestion is accepted Why should this be added?: Would make things more uniform so that everyone can communicate better Anything else you'd like to add?: Taken from an LAPD radioreference forum topic 10-0 Caution 10-1 Reception poor 10-2 Reception good 10-3 Stop transmitting 10-4 Message received, understood 10-5 Repay message 10-6 Change channel 10-7 Responding 10-8 In service 10-9 Repeat message 10-10 Negative 10-11 Identify frequency 10-12 Visitor(s) present 10-13 Weather and road advice 10-14 Citizen w/suspect 10-15 Prisoner in custody 10-16 Pick up prisoner 10-17 Request for gasoline 10-18 Equipment exchange 10-19 Return(ing) to station 10-20 Location 10-21 Telephone 10-21A Advise home I will return at: 10-22 Disregard last assignment 10-23 Stand by 10-24 Request car-to-car transmit 10-25 Do you have contact with: 10-26 Clear 10-27 D.D.L. report 10-28 Registration request 10-29 Check for wants 10-29F Subject wanted, felony 10-29H Hazard potential from subject 10-29M Subject wanted, Misdemeanor 10-29V Vehicle wanted 10-30 Doesn't conform to regulations 10-32 Drowning 10-33 Alarm sounding, audible 10-34 Assist at office 10-35 Time check 10-36 Confidential information 10-37 Identify operator 10-39 Can () come to the radio? 10-40 Is () available for phone call? 10-42 Check the welfare of/at: 10-43 Call a doctor 10-45 Condition of patient? 10-45A Good 10-45B Serious 10-45C Critical 10-45D Dead 10-49 Proceed to: 10-50 Under influence of drugs 10-51 Drunk 10-52 Resuscitator 10-53 Man down 10-54 Possible dead body 10-55 Coroner case 10-56 Suicide 10-56A Suicide attempt 10-57 Missing person 10-59 Security check 10-60 Lock-out 10-61 Miscellaneous public service 10-62 Meet a citizen 10-62A Take a report from a citizen 10-62B Civilian standby 10-63 Prepare to copy 10-64 Found property 10-66 Suspicious person 10-67 Person calling for help 10-68 Telephone for police 10-70 Prowler 10-71 Shooting 10-72 Gun involved 10-73 How do you receive? 10-79 Bomb threat 10-80 Explosion 10-86 Any radio traffic? 10-88 Assume post 10-91 Animal 10-91A Animal, stray 10-91B Animal, noisy 10-91C Animal, injured 10-91D Animal, dead 10-91E Animal, bite 10-91G Animal, pickup 10-91J Animal, pickup collect 10-91L Animal, leash law violation 10-91V Animal, vicious 10-95 Need ID tech unit 10-97 Arrived at scene 10-98 Available to assign Code 1: - Acknowledge this call Code 2: - Proceed immediatly without lights/siren Code 3: - Proceed immediatly with lights/siren Code 4: - No further assistance required Code 5: - Stakeout, uniformed officers stay away.

i think it should be required to have an option to disable it

Yeah forgot about that. the reason I suggested /r is to make it as short as possible so you can squeeze more into the message. maybe instead of /radio, just use /rd but other than that, what do you think of the overall idea?
-
Suggestion for (MTA, Forum, website): MTA Suggestion: A chat command for messages that are radio traffic. Typing "/r 444 is 10-7 with 1 10-92 on board proceeding to station. will advise when clear and 10-8" into chat would make it output "RADIO: Unit 444 is 10-7 with 1 10-92 on board proceeding to station. will advise when clear and 10-8" (for those who don't know, that means I'm unavailable with 1 person in custody, transporting to station). Why should this be added?: Sometimes I'd like to let the other officers know a more detailed description of my status, whether it be I'm hauling someone off to jail, or i'm not available as I am on a traffic stop, or whatever. With central, its pretty well simple preset messages. With this idea, other officers could acknowledge, and if say I am on a traffic stop, they could even ask if I'd like them to provide backup for me. Anything else you'd like to add?: I'm sure people might say "is this really needed as it would just clog up the chat", and an Idea I had is maybe integrate it with the central HUD, but just change the text color to blue, or yellow, or something so you can tell if it's a central message, or a radio message. Also, you could even add in a short radio static sound to alert players to a radio transmission

I'm kind of surprised we don't already have this for each section. I know with most forum software you can even automate this. Not sure what software this site uses, but I'd put money on a guess that its possible to automate it. at any rate +1

Just a question, out of curiosity, how many lovers do you have? Isn't Clint Fitzgerald your lover as well? lol Are you one of those polygamists?

Anyone who doesn't have a solid state drive (SSD), should be fully aware that THEY WILL FAIL. Its not a matter of "if" the hard drive will fail, but when. And unlike SSD's, hard drives do give off subtle hints that its about to give up the ghost. One of the biggest ways to tell if your hard drive is in need of immediate recovery is what is colloquially known as the "click of death". As they say in the video, if you've never heard that little ticking nose, congrats. Now go back up your data. Right now. Before even starting that video back up your data

One thing that might be cool is a separate "Donator" chat in game. That way donators can chat amongst themselves without clogging up global. Another thing that could be a possibility is for donators, the option to have a live police radio stream from the following: California Highway Patrol Los Angeles and Orange Counties: http://www.broadcastify.com/listen/feed/10239 California Highway Patrol West Valley Division: http://www.broadcastify.com/listen/feed/21154 LAPD Aero and Special Unit Dispatch / Hot shots / Code 3 http://www.broadcastify.com/listen/feed/17145 Burbank / Glendale Police, Fire and Area LAPD Dispatch http://www.broadcastify.com/listen/feed/9942 -
I tried my very best to find credits for this mod, but I downloaded it a long time ago, and the site that hosted it originally (filefront) is no longer available. If anyone knows how made this mod, please let me know and I will add the credits https://www.mediafire.com/?llj5hn6by3a3jb5

Players shouldn't get any of the money, in my opinion. That's a common tourist scam in South America. Also generally the court system gets the money not the officer. I agree. What I think would be good, is a randomly spawned (or possibly multiple), vehicle that would be considered illegally parked (i.e. parked on the sidewalk, parked too close to an intersection, parked in front of a fire hydrant, etc), and if a player finds it, and gives it a citation, they would get a small amount of EXP (15 or less). In this way, cadets who are trying to level up could find legitimate ways to gain EXP, instead of what more often happens with stealing civ vehicles and killing suspects. In this way, they could actually patrol in the caddy's or on bicycles, and use them the way they are intended. And if you guys do take this route, you could even rename the cadet rank to "parking enforcement". Some agencies make officers spend time in parking enforcement before they can go on active duty as a full patrol officer

Thin Blue Line - Fallen Officers - Tribute thread
greenops011 replied to greenops011's topic in Off Topic Discussion
I've seen that movie so many times, I actualy wore out the tape mechanism in the VHS tape (and yes, I still use my VCR very regularly). Essentially the movie starts off with Jack Morrison (the main character and firefighter), responding to a grain elevator structure fire, that has gone out of control. (For anyone who doesn't know, any type of fire where there is a lot of powder, like sawdust, grain silos, etc.... is extremely dangerous. All it takes is a spark and you can set the whole thing up in flames. The spark more or less jumps from particle to particle spreading very very rapidly). If I remember correctly, they had gotten to the 12th level of the elevator and had just gone across a metal catwalk when the catwalk was destroyed by falling debris. They found a victim suffering from severe smoke inhilation, and as their only exit was gone, they had to attempt to lower the victim down from an exterior roll up door, down to a bucket. When the victim was about 30 feet from the bucket, the floor that Jack was standing on collapsed, and he became trapped. Throughout the movie you see flashbacks to his life when he had just joined the Baltimore Fire Department, to meeting his wife Linda in a grocery store, to losing one of his brother firefighters in a ceiling collapse, to another one recieving serious burns to his face as a result of super-heated steam, to the birth of his kids. An interesting note about that movie is all the actors in that movie had to undergo extensive training. In that movie, all the flames you see are real, no special effects. As such, the actors, if so inclined, could actually apply to become firefighters, as they have the required training. Could you imagine John Travolta and Joaquin Pheonix as firefighters? That would be like Steve Buschemi being an FDNY firefighter. Oh wait, this just in....... Actor Steve Buschemi really was a firefighter with the FDNY http://www.simplethingcalledlife.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/steve-buscemi-fdby-650x640.png Yes, the guy everyone knows from the Adam Sandler movies, as "Crazy Eyes", was a legit FDNY firefighter. Back to Ladder 49. I strongly recommend you guys watch it if you have the chance. Very good movie -

Funny thing is, in grade 6, the Trews actuall came to my school and performed this in the gym. And I agree, lets make this thread for anyone who puts their life on on line every day so that we can live. Whether its the police, military, fire services, EMS, or anyone else you can think of. We need to honor those who may very well end up making the ultimate sacrifice. For you.... -
